Thank You!
As we reflect on the past year, we want to express our immense gratitude to all the organisations and individuals who have played a pivotal role in making this year truly remarkable for Humankind. Your support, collaboration, and enthusiasm have been instrumental in every success and milestone we've achieved. Thank you for being a part of our journey and for helping us make a meaningful impact in the communities we serve / are a part of.
Reflecting on a Remarkable Year at Humankind
The events of 2024 stand as a testament to our commitment to supporting communities and nurturing talent. Here’s a glimpse of what we’ve accomplished together:
Waterfront Mixer in Halifax
Our inaugural Waterfront Mixer in partnership with Digital Nova Scotia held at the picturesque Salt Yard Social, was a vibrant celebration of community and collaboration. Our team connected with many inspiring individuals, fostering relationships that extend our human-centred approach to recruitment. In line with our values, we matched the cost of the evening’s food with a donation to Feed Nova Scotia, further supporting their vital work in the community.
On the Air: All Hands on Tech Podcast Feature
This year also marked our debut on Digital Nova Scotia's "All Hands on Tech" podcast. Our Managing Director, Rick Purcell, and Recruitment Director, Andy Chesters, discussed our expansion into nine countries and our people-first approach to recruitment. They shared insights into our plans for growing our presence in Halifax and beyond, underscoring our commitment to the tech community.

Tech Forward Awards
Our involvement in the Tech Forward Awards held by Digital Nova Scotia was yet another highlight, where we sponsored the Talent Champion Award. This accolade recognises organisations that excel in attracting and retaining top tech talent. The event was not just an awards ceremony but a reaffirmation of our commitment to building innovative teams and supporting the Nova Scotian tech community.
Creative Sparks and Charity Initiatives
We also proudly sponsored Creative Spark’s Little Print Shop of Horrors, which raised £5,000 for Humans MCR to fight food poverty in Greater Manchester. Additionally, our own Contractor Care and Compliance Manager, Debby, went beyond the extra mile - quite literally - by completing a 16-mile, 9-peak charity hike, raising funds for the Rainbow Trust Children's Charity.
A Global Footprint
Looking back, we're proud to say that Humankind now operates across four continents. Our global reach continues to grow, and with it, our ability to impact more lives positively. Aware of the environmental implications that come with our growth, we've partnered with Trees4Travel to mitigate the carbon emissions associated with our increased travel needs.
Looking Ahead to 2025
The coming year promises to be even more exciting. We are planning more fundraising efforts for the Rainbow Trust Children's Charity, with our very own Marketing Exec, Brie, running the 2025 London Marathon. In Canada, we're set to broaden our scope with additional networking events, award ceremonies, and roundtable discussions.
Meanwhile, in the UK, we'll be launching the "Tech Confessions" series in Manchester and hosting casual networking events in London. These events are perfect opportunities to connect, learn, and collaborate. We’d love for you to join us at these gatherings, so please stay in touch as we'd love to meet you!
As we prepare to enter 2025, and close 2024, we are grateful for what we've achieved and excited about what lies ahead. Here's to another year of success, impact, and human connection!
